Mr. Didier explains why Afghanistan fell so rapidly, US policies, the Afghan society, the evolution of the Taliban, regional geopolitics from a historical perspective and, what to expect next in the "new" Afghanistan!

Didier Chaudet is an independent consultant based in China, specialized in Afghanistan and its neighborhood (Pakistan, Iran, post-Soviet Central Asia), with a particular focus on security and regional diplomacy. He has done regular fieldwork in this part of the world for the past fifteen years and had the opportunity to live in some of these countries (Pakistan and Afghanistan most of 2014). He is now a Research Fellow at IFEAC (French Institute for Central Asian Studies) and the Editing Director at The Center for the Analysis of Foreign Policy. He contributes regularly to Diplomatie (the main magazine in French focusing on geopolitics) and Asialyst (the main French website focusing on Asian geopolitics, www.asialyst.com). He is the author of more than 250 articles related to his field.
